Our achievements

Department of Social Services as one of the nation-building departments of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh is providing services to the distressed, poor, neglected, backward, underprivileged, troubled backward and disabled people of the country. By turning all these target groups into human resources, the Department of Social Services is playing an important role in the overall development of the country by alleviating poverty and providing social security. City Social Services Office, Bagerhat as a subsidiary organization of Department of Social Services has given stipend to 1536 old age pensioners, 441 widows and married women pensioners, 885 disadvantaged disabled pensioners and 17 disabled students in the last three years. In addition, the special elderly allowance of the backward community is 53, the education stipend of the students of the backward community is 24. A total of 2956 beneficiaries have been provided with mobile financial service development through G2P (Government to Person) system. 1124 persons with disabilities have been identified, assessed and issued identity cards. Construction of District Social Service Complex has been started at the district level.
